NBA Division Reports - 3.26.08

Dirk Is Out

It was a bad week for some NBA teams, but it was particularly bad for the Dallas Mavericks as they lost their superstar player, Dirk Nowitzki. Obviously losing Dirk is a bad thing, but to have the Western Conference playoff situation this close, it certainly doesn't help Dallas in achieving their playoff goals. Read about this situation and more in the Southwest Division Report.

The Boston Celtics, however, continue to roll. They completed a Texas sweep against the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, and the aforementioned Mavs. The Rockets' Tracy McGrady commented on the Celtics' defense, which you can read about in the Atlantic Division Report. Also, it seems that there is a very good possibility the New York Knicks will have a new head coach, which really it's more about Isiah Thomas not being coach) when current Indiana Pacers CEO Donnie Walsh takes over after the season... allegedly.

In the Great Northwest, you can probably expect it to get a bit quieter as it seems the Seattle SuperSonics will probably be leaving for Oklahoma City. The NBA subcommitte approved a potential move. Learn more about the situation in the Northwest Division Report.

In the Pacific Division Report, Nick puts it so succinctly about the Los Angeles Clippers - at least the NBA Draft lottery isn't far away. Here are some players they can look forward to drafting.

Here are the other division reports published yesterday, in case you missed them - Southeast Division Report and Central Division Report. Enjoy all the fine words from some fine basketball minds.
