Kobe Don't Hurt Em!

Game One of the 2008 NBA Finals goes down tonight! The Los Angeles Lakers will be traveling to the town of beans and play against the best team during the regular season, the Boston Celtics. You've seen all of the reminiscing back to the great LA/Boston rivalry during the 80's, but now it's time to see what happens 2008 style where it seems like the hype is Kobe Bryant versus the Boston Celtics' Big Three of Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce.

But, if you've been following the postseason (check out The Days of the 2008 NBA Playoffs), you know that it's been more than just Kobe for the Lakers, as well as more than just the Big Three for the Celtics. It's a team game, baby!!!

It's prediction time, but before I expound on whom I think will win, you need to learn the past in order to move on to the future:

Now... who will take the whole thing? Well, I have to admit that the team I originally took to take the chip, the Detroit Pistons, definitely disappointed me. But, I really don't think that the Lakers will make me sad as they've just been "special" all season. There just seems to be this air about them... nothing against Garnett who made the Celtics matter again, but Bryant just seems to be on another level this season. He's actually content and happy, but most of all, confident in his teammates. You never had that feeling before, but you can definitely sense it now, especially with the addition of Pau Gasol.

So, that said, I think the Lakers will take the NBA title in six games... and I swear my being a New York Knicks fan has NOTHING to do with me choosing against Boston... seriously.

TONIGHT, 9PM ET, ABC. Don't miss it... amazing is going to happen.
