The Stephon Marbury Situation

What happens when two "stars" collide? New York Knicks G.M. Donnie Walsh talks to them, that's what! Okay, so it hasn't happened yet, but it's going to. What a predicament for all involved as Stephon Marbury, the mercurial point guard for the Knicks has not yet played in an NBA game this regular season, despite calls for his appearance from the Madison Square Garden faithful during their home opener. Not only are people begging for Starbury to play, but he came into training camp looking physically impressive and in top shape. I don't think there's any doubt that Marbury can still play in this league.
For head coach Mike D'Antoni, you want to get some minutes for the younger players because there probably isn't anything to play for this season as New York isn't exactly a contender. So, implement a new system, get less experienced players in the rotation, make Marbury inactive, and pray that LeBron James chooses New York in 2010... excellent plan! Except, the plan was obvious from the start and Chris Duhon isn't exactly looking great running the team. And after a 94-86 home loss to the Milwaukee Bucks who lost star player Michael Redd during the game, maybe it's time the former scorching hot superstar coach and the former can't miss superstar lead guard get along and make the Knicks, at the very least, entertaining again.
Stay tuned for more of the drama that is the Knicks.
