Feeding The Post: Eddie Jordan Goes Abracadabra!

* Eddie Jordan was fired by the Washington Wizards and surprisingly to me, was only into his sixth season as head coach for the Wiz, yet was also the longest tenured head coach in the Eastern Conference. In under six seasons, Jordan led the Wizards to the postseason in four consecutive seasons (2004-05 to 2007-08), but only able to get past the first round once. Regardless, asking what have you done lately isn't a valid question in Jordan's case. And despite missing two key players in Gilbert Arenas and Brendan Haywood, going 1-10 wasn't something the Wizards' front office could handle anymore. Man, it's tough being an NBA head coach. In more toughness news, P.J. Carlesimo was fired by the Oklahoma City Thunder after starting the season 1-12. Definitely a tough business.
* San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili returned to the court and did very well, scoring 12 points in 11 minutes as the Spurs beat the Memphis Grizzlies, 94-81. With Ginobili and Tony Parker out for a significant stretch to start the season, the Spurs have been very average, but with Manu looking good on the hardwood, Parker progressing during his rehab, the Spurs will once again be a team to look out for.
* Former Detroit Pistons forward Antonio McDyess was traded with Chauncey Billups to the Denver Nuggets a couple of weeks ago and was quickly cut by the Nuggs. After waiting a mandatory 30 days, McDyess will sign with his old team and will once again ply his trade in Detroit.

PJ & Jordan, I don’t get moves like that. I mean, it was clearly Jordan’s fault that he has injuries to starters and it was clearly PJ’s fault that he has only one legitimate NBA player on his squad… oh well, at least he didn’t get strangled this time around I guess!
who is eddie jones?
