The NBA Finals MVP award is a prestigious symbol of an NBA player rising above all others during the most critical of games - the NBA Finals series. There are the usual NBA greats' names - Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Jerry West, Wilt Chamberlain et al. There are also those players who made themselves equal to the game's greats, elevating themselves to win the award, such as Dennis Johnson and Cedric Maxwell.
