BOSTON CELTICS
Recap Rewind: Just when you thought the Boston Celtics nightmare season couldnt get any worse, it did, unless of course Danny Ainge and Doc Rivers have already shifted their focus from the regular season to the draft lottery. If thats the case then things are actually looking up On Wednesday night the Celtics clashed with the equally lousy Milwaukee Bucks and came out conveniently on the bottom On Friday night the Celtics looked to bounce back and keep their 3-game home winning streak alive against the Miami Heat. Unfortunately the Cs were unable to capitalize after rallying back from a 14 point fourth quarter deficit and came away with their 52nd loss of the season Saturday was much of the same against the potentially playoff bound Indiana Pacers, and the shorthanded Boston squad found themselves staring at yet another loss, making them 0-3 on the week.
Notable News: Adding injury to insult, Delonte West went down with a sprained ankle in the third quarter of Wednesday nights game in Milwaukee. Although Doc Rivers had originally anticipated West back in the line up against Miami, the guard hasnt dressed for a game since West joins Al Jefferson, and Paul Pierce as the latest batch of Celtics to hit the sidelines Injuries have been a problem all season long for Boston limiting who they have been able to use at any given time. The oldest player to suit up in green this week was Ryan Gomes at age 24. The most experienced player? Fourth year man Kendrick Perkins Between Sebastian Telfair, Allan Ray, Rajon Rondo and Gerald Green the Celtics have one of the brightest back courts in the league, now is as good of a time as any to catch of glimpse of whats in store for them.
Fast Forward: The Celtics have a busy schedule ahead of them this week, starting things off in Atlanta on Tuesday and then heading back home for two games against Philadelphia and Milwaukee. The Cs finish their week in Florida against the Miami Heat and the Orlando Magic Aside from an opportunity to see some of their younger players get some significant minutes, theres not much else to get excited for in this five game stretch, unless of course youre an avid fan of the draft lottery.
