From Dennis Velasco, for About.com

Dennis: Okay, Mike, like we did about ten days ago, let's wrap it up and put a ribbon on it! I'll go first since I have the floor. Now, I LOVE the NBA. Absolutely LOVE it. However, after all the momentum that was picked up in popularity during last season's playoffs (yes, I'm talking about this again), the NBA has been a bit of a letdown this season. Yes, we all know about the Denver Nuggets/New York Knicks boxing match at Madison Square Garden, which tarnished the game, but it's more than that. The season just seems off. LeBron James doesn't seem happy and is just going through the season, recently complaining about the Cavs offense. Kobe Bryant has dropped a lot of points during several games, but isn't yet consistent coming off of leg surgery during the offseason. There are a number of players hurt, such as Yao Ming, Lamar Odom, Rashard Lewis, Chris Paul, Chris Bosh, Josh Smith and a whole bunch of other players that would be All-Star worthy. And there haven't been any rookies that have consistently performed at a high level. It's only been two months and I'm sure that things will pick up, but it's just not giving that OOMPH I was hoping for. But, maybe I just put a lot of expectations on the league. It's what happens when you're a fan, I guess.

Mike, it's all you, brother!

Mike: Let me wrap things up by asking players to stop complaining about everything including the new/old ball and the stricter ref calls and just play the game. You're getting paid more than most people could imagine and eventually you're going to get used to the changes in the modern day NBA. After all that complaining about dressing nice, is it really that big of a deal? But then again, who am I to talk, I rock hoodies to work like Bill Belichick. Peace.

Dennis: Okay, that's it for this week's edition of The Basketball Chat, so please come back next week when Mike and I talk about the latest goings on in the NBA. In the meantime, please check out ElevationMag.com's Daily Top Picks in fantasy basketball, rumors, quotes, and so much more. You won't be sorry. 'Til next week!
