After one season with Georgia Tech, he declared for the 2003 NBA Draft where he was selected by the Toronto Raptors.
In 2004, Chris Bosh founded the The Chris Bosh Foundation, which assists youths in reaching both athletic and academic goals. His nickname is both a reference to his initials and jersey number.
His Career Thus Far:
Bosh was asked to play a lot of center for the Raptors early on in his career, and night-in and night-out the rookie was matched up against bigger and stronger players. From the start he showed a lot of heart and a mental toughness needed to excel in the pro game. Bosh became the face of the franchise in his second year, and has showed improvement in his game with each passing season.
After making the All-Star team in his third season of play, Bosh spent the summer of 2006 playing on Team USA. He is now one of the best big men in the Eastern Conference, and was voted to start on the 2006-07 All-Star team. Bosh has the ability to be a 20 points and 10 rebounds a night type of player and he has the ability to get to the line often. Growing into his role as the leader on the team, Bosh and the Raptors are finally achieving some success that translates in the win-loss column, winning their first Atlantic Division title during the 2006-07 going 47-35.
