Brendan Sonnone fell in love with the Orlando Magic when he moved to Orlando in 1994. The Magic was in its prime and being only five years old, Brendan was too young and naïve to see what was in Orlando’s future. Sonnone has grown up with Orlando, experiencing great moments, like when the Magic signed Tracy McGrady and Grant Hill... and he has gone through heartbreaking moments, like when Orlando signed Hill and he fell apart or when it signed McGrady and he quit on the team. Sonnone still claims that the Heart and Hustle seasons with Darrell Armstrong and Bo Outlaw were the best years in Magic history and he will defend that to the death.

Currently, Sonnone covers the Magic for MVN.com. Sonnone hopes to stay with the website as it continues to grow. His blog, Believing in Magic, covers everything about Orlando, from predictions, to comparisons, to rumors and everything in-between. He combines his knowledge of the game with his love for the Magic and blends them with his writing ability to produce an insightful and exciting website.

Sonnone is a freshman at the University of Central Florida and is majoring in Journalism. While he is young, Sonnone has already put together an extensive resume that rivals many established writers. Aside from his work at MVN, where he also covers the Jacksonville Jaguars, he has written for numerous other websites, including Jagnation at Scouts.com. Perhaps Sonnone’s greatest achievement thus far is his work for the Orlando Sentinel, where he freelances for them, covering high school sports.

Knowing that he still has much to improve on, Sonnone constantly tries to better himself with every story he writes, and never misses an opportunity to talk about the Magic. While he has been covering Orlando for some time, he still says the most difficult thing about writing for the Magic isn’t the fact that the team is snake-bitten or unlucky, but that its name doesn’t end in an "s", making it challenging to figure out whether a word should be singular or plural.
