Pete Nussbaum writes for SuperSonicSoul, a blog his good friend Paul Merrill launched in the early days of blogging, and is joined by another buddy, Rafael Calonzo. After one season of playoff success, the blog has tracked consecutive years of doldrums, leading the trio to think that a blog about the Seattle Storm might be a better idea. That, or perhaps cricket.
Nussbaum has rooted for the Sonics since the days of Gus Williams, Jack Sikma, and Dennis Johnson, but like most Sonic fans of his generation his faith was cemented with the emergence of Xavier McDaniel and Nate McMillan during the mid to late 80s, and culminated with the glory days of the mid 90s, the last time it was cool to be a Sonic fan in the Seattle area.
Now living in Vancouver, BC, he roots for the team from afar. Lets just hope with all the turmoil surrounding the teams apparently imminent departure, he doesnt have to root for them from too far away.
