Who is the least valuable 20-point scorer in the league right now? Scott: I had Baron Davis pegged as this answer, but then he got hurt. So, in an attempt to not use anyone thats been (or is) injured, Im going to go with Kevin Martin. In the fantasy arena, hes been a stud this season. In the real NBA arena, his team is seven games under .500. While its not his fault, his impact on the game is solely on the offensive end. The rest of the guys on this list are either in the playoff hunt or are simply on terrible teams (a la Joe Johnson). Thus, Marins the man. Congrats, Kevin. Dave: Carmelo Anthony with almost no double-doubles and Zach Randolph without discernable defense are tempting prospects, but Im going to go with Baron Davis. He has fantastic individual numbers but his teams havent won a lot and for a point guard thats got to be the main barometer. Tom: I love this question. Look at all of those high scoring forwards on bad teams. So naturally I'm going with guard, Joe Johnson. The guy has lit it up for the Hawks but he doesn't seem to lead them to many wins. My bias comes from seeing him disappear in a couple of games this year. Johnson would be a lethal Robin to another star's Batman, but he seems to be lacking that lead dog 'it' quality. Dennis: I'll have to go with Pau Gasol because he plays for the Grizzlies. However, I reserve the right to change my selection when and if Gasol gets traded to Chicago. |
