How will Scottie Pippen’s attempted comeback work out? Is there any way he still contributes anything significant?

Natalie: I can see a team like Miami giving him a shot for the simple fact that they need something extra, especially since D Wade is out. Can he contribute? Probably, but not with a contender. I am sure he can still score, but in a limited role. Don’t expect him to play defense and do expect him to rely on his jumpshot. He is older and has been out of the league to long to play the game we are accustomed of him.

Atma Brother #1: Scottie could be a nice pick up for contending teams like the Mavs, Suns, Heat, and Pistons. As long as he understands his role off the bench and serves as an advisor with 6 ring status, he could contribute a lot. The biggest question however is whether Nike will re-release the classic Air Pippen 2's if Scottie returns. Now those were some fresh kicks!

Dave: Let’s see... Clyde Drexler in his 40’s will be on Dancing With The Stars. Scottie Pippen in his 40’s will be tiptoeing around Steve Javie. Somehow I don’t see this ending well. Scottie was one of the most perceptive and prepared players ever and that will still hold him in good stead. But he’s not a seven-footer and knowing what your body should do and making it actually do it are two different things, especially when you’re playing against the most athletic 20-somethings in the world. What looks good in your mind or in a run-through in an empty gym doesn’t always translate in the game. Maybe with that deep, bass voice he can make a run at American Idol?

Dennis: I don't know. It might just be a bunch of hype at this point and while he did look good at All-Star weekend that was an exhibition. Since Pippen left the League, the NBA has gotten a lot faster and there's only so much his experience will be able to do to be effective for long stretches. If Pippen does in fact sign, and he REALLY wants to play, I can see him signing with a team a month or so down the line in order for him to work whatever magic he has left in the postseason. But, I also wouldn't be surprised if he didn't sign anywhere.
