MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES

Recap Rewind: The Timberwolves’ misery continued this week as they could only muster 65 points against Dallas and 83 versus Utah (both losses) before finally breaking out and scoring 117 against the Celtics…but allowing them 124.

Notable News: Kevin Garnett was held somewhat under his averages in the first two losses. He only scored 15 against the Mavericks (but grabbed 13 rebounds) and 22 against the Jazz (with 4 rebounds). He made up for it with a 33-point, 13-rebound, 10-assist triple-double against the Celtics. Ricky Davis had 35 points and 9 rebounds in the Celtics game as well. Center Mark Blount’s production has cooled considerably from his hot start to 2007. He’s played seven straight games without topping 13 points and nineteen straight without double-digit rebounds. Meanwhile point guard Mike James, after watching The Prestige, has decided to pull the “Disappearing Man” trick. He went scoreless in the Dallas and Utah games and only recorded three points off of one made shot in the Boston game. That makes him 1-for the week. He has registered 5 assists in those three contests combined. Rookie Randy Foye is experiencing the typical roller coaster. Last week he was a budding starter at the point guard position. This week he was a non-entity and was benched in favor of Troy Hudson, who scored 26 and dished 8 dimes against the Celtics.

Fast Forward: The ’Wolves play the Lakers at home Tuesday night before embarking on a mini-trip East on Friday and Saturday, facing the Heat and Hawks.
