SEATTLE SUPERSONICS

Recap Rewind: The Sonics’ losing skid hit five games with losses to the Pistons and Warriors before they administered a drubbing to I-5 rivals Portland, with whom they are now neck and neck in the frantic race for the division cellar.

Notable News: Ray Allen continues to carve up the league. He’s averaging 24 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists in his last 5. Rashard Lewis scored 27 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the win against the Blazers. Forward Chris Wilcox played as big as he looked in the Portland game, coming up with 26 points and 9 rebounds himself. Center Nick Collison has not been scoring as prolifically lately as he did earlier in the season but that didn’t stop him from amassing 18 rebounds against the Warriors and 11 against the Blazers.

Fast Forward: The Sonics have a three-game home stand this week. They welcome the Wizards on Wednesday, the Timberwolves on Friday, and the Spurs on Sunday.
