Report by Dave Deckard and Nick Sclafani
Dave Deckard and Nick Sclafani take a weekly look at the NBA teams in the Northwest Division - Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trail Blazers, Seattle SuperSonics, Utah Jazz - and breaks down what happened the week before and what to expect in the week ahead, as well as injuries and trades.
DENVER NUGGETS reported by Nick
Recap Rewind: The Nuggets laced it up four more times on this most recent road trip and after a rocky start managed to win the final three games of the voyage. Denver lost AIs homecoming to Philadelphia, 115-113, but then put Ls on the Nets, 124-114, the Raptors, 109-100, and the lowly Grizzlies, 120-106.
Notable News: Do you have J.R. Smith on your fantasy team? If you do, you know just how explosive The Prodigy can be! J.R. is averaging 14.4 points per game in his last five games while shooting better than 50% from beyond the arch. The Nuggets are now just a half game out of the Wests eighth and final playoff spot behind the Golden State Warriors and only a game and a half against the now Dirk-less Mavericks.
Fast Forward: Gut check time for the Nuggets. On Thursday, they face the Dallas Mavericks at Pepsi center, and on Saturday they host the Warriors. Then its off to face the Suns on Monday in back-to-back games with Phoenix in a home and home-away series.
