GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS
by Fantasy Junkie of Golden State of Mind
Recap Rewind: This was just a 2 game week for the Warriors after their big Monday win over the Mavericks. They started the week off with a 106-86 blasting of the Timberwolves on Friday. A 20 point win over a team striving to get into the last playoff spot is huge for their confidence. It was big enough to even get the Warriors a win on the 2nd game of a back to back and on the road against the Sonics. In a 99-98 defeat of the Sonics, the Warriors showed a lot of heart. After being up 16 points, the Warriors allowed the Sonics to get back in the game and even take a 7 point lead. The Warriors didnt give up even though they collapsed because they still had Baron Davis. He hit a huge 3 to keep the game close and with 3 seconds to go he dropped in a jumper off a nasty crossover. The win put them at 6-0 with the starting 5 of Baron, Jason Richardson, Stephen Jackson, Al Harrington and Andris Biedrins. As long as these 5 stay healthy, its looking like they could make that playoff push. The team is on fire right now and at the exact right time.

Fast Forward: Its a 4 game week for the Warriors against some of the elite teams in the West. A visit to Utah on Tuesday smells of trouble as the Warriors are a poor road team. Then on Friday, the Wizards visit Oakland which will surely have some of the most fanatic Warrior fans around as Golden State of Mind hosts a night for all of the readers and Warrior fans. Next Sunday though, the Warriors take a trip down to the Staples Center to face the team thats got their number, the Los Angeles Lakers. Following that, the Spurs visit The Oracle on Monday. If the Warriors can manage a .500 week, theyll still be afloat in the playoff race as they currently sit 1 game in front of anybody else.
