SACRAMENTO KINGS
by Fantasy Junkie of Golden State of Mind
Recap Rewind: The Kings final week of the season dropped them to the 10th worst record in the league in a loaded draft. It was a 2-4 week for the Kings. It started off in Memphis with the Kings stealing one on the road from the Grizzlies in a 112-100 victory. It was a topsy turvy start to the game as the Kings were up a ridiculous 24 points after just one quarter. But in the second quarter the Grizzlies outscored the Kings by 19 to make the game close at the half. In the end, the Kings pulled it out as Brad Miller dropped a triple double. The following day, the Kings visited San Antonio for a meeting with the red hot Spurs. Ron Artest sat out the game, but even without him, the Kings had a chance for an upset. They were up 1 heading into the 4th, but couldnt hang on as they lost 100-109. On Friday, the Golden State Warriors visited Arco and thanks to a 42-23 second quarter, were able to cruise to a victory. Bibby and Artest both struggled to make shots while Shareef Abdur-Rahim went off with 23-14 in losing 108-125. The Kings then went down to LA to play the Clippers in what turned out to be the deciding game for the final spot in the Western Conference playoff race. Despite playing mostly reserves in the 4th quarter and thanks to some big buckets from Francisco Garcia, the Kings set the Clippers back a game with a 105-100 victory. Up next were the Hornets. It was a shootout as the Hornets scored above 30 in each quarter and wound up sending Kings fans home with a 118-125 loss. Finally, in the last game of the regular season, the Kings faced Kobe and the Lakers in Sacramento. The Kings kept it close for the majority of 3 quarters, but eventually lost to a better team 106-117.
Notable News: Brad Millers plantar fasciitis acted up again in the Spurs game and he had to sit out the rest of that game and the next. He should fully heal in the offseason Many Kings fans believe that despite it being only his first year with the franchise, Eric Musselman will be gone after the season is over Whats a notable news section without Ron Ron? Well read what he had to say about the Kings win over the Clips. "I kind of wished we could have lost tonight."
Fast Forward: The Kings will be praying for a top 2 pick but more than likely settling for the 10th pick. Additionally, Eric Musselman may not be around next year so they coaching hunt will start. Gone Fishin.
