SAN ANTONIO SPURS
Recap Rewind: The Spurs are rolling. Three wins last week brings their current streak to eight games; their best run of the season. They're winning big, too. They beat the Raptors, Magic and Rockets last week by an average of 21 points, with Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan taking turns doing the scoring thing each night. Ginobili's 31 points against the Magic on Friday came in just 27 minutes of action. That 98-74 win was especially gratifying given Dwight Howard's emphatic winner over the Spurs a few weeks back.
Notable News: The 41-18 Spurs are clinging to a one game lead in the standings, ahead of the surging Utah Jazz... Parker sat out the Houston game on Saturday with a bad hip. He's listed as day-to-day... Michael Finley got his groove back, averaging 12 points in the Spurs three games last week... The San-Antonio Express-News consider Parker the sixth-best Spur of all-time. I knew he was one of the best French point guards in franchise history, but whatever.
Fast Forward: The Spurs are set to play the Clippers in LA as I'm writing this (Monday). On Tuesday they're in Portland to take on the Blazers, before wrapping up their four-game road trip with a visit to the Sacramento Kings on Thursday. They return to San Antonio to host the Nets on Saturday.
