MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES
Recap Rewind: Ho-hum. Three games, three losses for the Grizzlies last week. They continue to score in bunches, but they just can't stop the other team from scoring even more. They averaged 100ppg last week, but gave up 117.7ppg to the Hornets, Lakers and Jazz. Their best shot at a win last week came on Thursday against LA, which they lost by a deuce. Kobe Bryant dropped 60 points on the Grizz in that one, overshadowing an impressive 35-point, 15 rebound night for Pau Gasol, and a 33-point outing for Mike Miller.
Notable News: Having lost 11 of their last 13 games, the Grizzlies are now a League-worst 17-53 on the season, and looking forward to the Draft Lottery on May 22nd... True story: the Grizzlies are the only team in the NBA this season without consecutive wins... Alexander Johnson is apparently a changed man since returning from his D-League stint. After his four fouls and three turnovers in ten minutes against the Jazz on Saturday, maybe he should consider changing back... Grizzlies fans may have something to celebrate this season after all, as Rudy Gay seems to be in with a chance for Rookie of the Year... Reserve forward Lawrence Roberts is still struggling with a knee injury.
Fast Forward: Busy week for Memphis, who were set to play the Suns in Phoenix on Monday evening. They continue their six-game road trip on Tuesday against the Lakers, before another back-to-back Thursday and Friday against the Portland Trailblazers and Seattle Supersonics respectively. On Sunday they wrap up the road trip against the Golden State Warriors.
