MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES
Recap Rewind: The Grizz played four road games last week, but somehow came out of it with a pair of rare wins. Last Tuesday they beat the Lakers, 88-86, despite missing Mike Miller, Damon Stoudamire and Chucky Atkins due to various ailments. Two nights later in Portland, rookie Tarence Kinsey had his second strong game in a row, dropping 20 points in the Grizzlies' 96-92 win over the Blazers. The Grizz couldn't keep it going on Friday in Seattle, getting blown out by the Sonics, 93-120. The defense was equally horrible on Sunday against the Warriors, as Memphis lost 117-122.
Notable News: Memphis are now 19-56 on the season, and still the worst team in the League... The back-to-back wins last week were the first of the season for the Grizzlies. They were the only team in the NBA not to have consecutive victories... The injuries are piling up for Memphis. Junior Harrington took a nasty fall on Sunday against the Warriors, and Mike Miller may be shutting it down for the rest of the season with a knee injury. I guess it's not like they need him for a Playoff push or anything... As mentioned, Tarence Kinsey has been making some noise.
Fast Forward: The Grizzlies return to Memphis on Tuesday, where they will play the Phoenix Suns. On Friday they have a rematch with the Warriors, this time on their own turf, while Saturday takes them to Orlando to play the Magic.
