MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES

Recap Rewind: Playing like a team with the worst record in the NBA, the Grizzlies extended their latest losing streak to five games with losses to the Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors and Orlando Magic last week. Saturday's loss in Orlando was the worst of the bunch, as the Grizz trailed by as much as 34 points and lost 89-116.

Notable News: It looks pretty certain that the Grizzlies will finish with the worst record in the NBA and therefore get the best chance of nabbing the first pick of the upcoming draft. Memphis are currently 19-59 on the season. The second-worst team in the League, the Boston Celtics, are 23-53... The Grizzlies are limping to the finish line. Already without injured starters Mike Miller and Damon Stoudamire, Memphis lost rookie Rudy Gay to an ankle injury on Friday against Golden State. With Gay listed as day-to-day, the Grizz are left with just nine healthy bodies... The attention of the franchise will soon turn to finding a permanent head coach. It had been speculated that top college coach Billy Donovan was offered the position, but team president Jerry West has rubbished those rumors. Current Suns' assistant Marc Iavaroni now appears to be top of West's wish list.

Fast Forward: Just four games left until the misery ends for Memphis fans. The Grizzlies host the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday, followed by visits from the Denver Nuggets (Saturday) and San Antonio Spurs (Monday).
